· Life Hack Marathons
In preparations for Hacking Habitat the Life Hack Marathons explored themes such as invisibility, debt, restrictions on movement and bureaucracy. Participants came together and were immediately confronted with the violence of governing systems, by speakers such as Saskia Sassen, Zihni Òzdill, Tomáš Sedláček, Rutger Bregman, Eric Smit, James Bridle, Marleen Stikker, Evgeny Morozov, Arjan El Fassed, Lino Hellings, Aram Bartholl and Ahmed Öğüt. These public lectures were followed by private meetings, which were used to horizontally learn how to life hack.

The LHM’s had a diverse array of participants. For example, Life Hack # 1 How to be Seen brought activists, refugees, people with disabilities, entrepreneurs, students, ex-convicts, homeless people, policy advisors, healthcare managers, undocumented people, anarchists, artists, employees of the National Ombudsman, and the Netherlands Institute for Human Rights together.

· (En)countering the Culture of the Norm
